Culture and Ways of Working

Culture that shows up in how people work, not just how they talk about it.

Overview

Culture is not what an organisation says about itself. It is what people experience, what leaders reinforce and what gets repeated when no one is watching. Many culture initiatives produce values statements, workshops and posters, but leave daily behaviour largely unchanged.

The organisations that succeed treat culture as a design problem, not a communications exercise. They are explicit about the behaviours that matter, build those behaviours into how work actually gets done, and hold leaders accountable for modelling them consistently.

Most organisations do not notice culture drifting from what leadership intends until the gap has already widened. Stated values become background noise; behaviour is instead shaped by what gets rewarded, what leaders themselves model, and what new employees observe rather than what they are told in onboarding.

Closing that gap requires more than reinforcing the message. It requires changing the mechanisms, the meetings, decisions, recognition and daily routines, that actually produce behaviour.

Culture and Ways of Working

We help organisations translate stated values into the everyday behaviours, routines and decisions that make culture real.

From stated values to lived behaviour, we help organisations build a culture that performs, not just one that sounds good.

Culture Diagnostics & Assessment

Understand the gap between the culture an organisation says it has and the one employees actually experience day to day.

Ways-of-Working Design

Define the specific behaviours, routines and working practices that bring the desired culture to life in daily operations.

Culture Change Strategy & Implementation

Design and lead structured programmes that shift behaviour deliberately rather than relying on communication alone.

Employee Engagement Measurement & Action

Track how culture is genuinely experienced across the organisation and translate findings into targeted action.

Values Activation & Behaviour Change

Convert abstract value statements into observable behaviours that leaders and teams can practise and be held to.

Signs You Need This

Individually, each sign is manageable. Together, they signal a culture that is drifting away from what leadership intends.

When stated culture and everyday behaviour have started to pull apart.

Values on the Wall, Not in the Room: Your organisation's stated values are difficult to recognise in everyday behaviour.

Change Without Change

A culture change programme has been launched, but behaviour has changed little.

Leadership Says One Thing, Does Another

Senior leaders describe the culture they want, but their own actions are inconsistent with it.

Engagement Scores Without Action

Employee engagement is measured regularly, but the results rarely translate into meaningful change.

New Hires, Old Habits

New employees quickly absorb “how things really work here,” regardless of what onboarding materials say.

Our Approach

We begin by understanding culture as it is actually experienced, not as it is described in values statements. Through structured diagnostics, interviews and behavioural observation, we identify where stated values and daily behaviour diverge, and why.

From there, we work with leadership to define a small number of behaviours that matter most, the ones that would most change how the organisation performs if practised consistently. Culture change fails when it tries to change everything at once; it succeeds when it changes a few things that are visible, repeatable and reinforced.

We then embed these behaviours into the mechanisms that actually shape daily work: how meetings are run, how decisions are made, how performance is recognised and how leaders show up. Culture change that lives only in training sessions rarely survives contact with daily pressure.

Throughout, we work closely with leadership, since culture change delegated entirely to HR or communications teams rarely holds. Leaders who visibly practise the desired behaviours give everyone else permission and reason to do the same.

From how culture is experienced to how it should be lived. From stated values to daily behaviour. From behaviour to sustained performance.
