Nigeria on the Global Stage
Speaking alongside Lead Partners from Hong Kong, Lebanon and Czechia, Yemisi Akinrinade set out why Nigerian employers are increasingly flagging a widening skills gap, and what it takes to turn essential skills from an abstract idea into something measurable and teachable.
The Moment
On 14 January 2026, Skills Builder Partnership marked the official launch of its Global Division at a Market Close ceremony at the London Stock Exchange, alongside the release of its inaugural Global Impact Report 2025. Concinnity, as Nigeria's exclusive Lead Country Partner, represented the country among a small group of international Lead Partners invited to share how the Skills Builder Universal Framework is taking root in their markets.

Nigeria's Voice at the Launch
At the launch, Lead Partners from across the Skills Builder Global network shared how they are adapting the Universal Framework to their own national contexts, including Hong Kong, Lebanon and Czechia. Representing Nigeria, Yemisi Akinrinade spoke to a market where employers are increasingly signalling a widening skills gap, and to the work of giving shape and rigour to essential skills that can otherwise feel abstract, so they can be defined, taught and measured with the same discipline as any technical subject.
Why This Matters for Nigeria
Nigeria's inclusion among a handful of Lead Partners invited to speak at this launch reflects Concinnity's standing within the Skills Builder Global network, built through its role translating the Universal Framework into Nigeria's own education and workforce development priorities. It also signals a wider recognition that Nigeria's employers, educators and policymakers are actively grappling with the same essential skills gap driving this conversation worldwide.
Part of a Wider Global Movement
This launch sits alongside Skills Builder Global's July 2026 insight paper, The Essential Skills Advantage: Human Skills in an Age of AI, which separately names Nigeria as one of six countries reshaping how essential skills and AI adoption intersect, again identifying Concinnity as the partner helping government embed the Universal Framework into Nigeria's revised national curriculum. Together, the two moments place Concinnity at the centre of Nigeria's essential skills story on the global stage.
